Although one of the healthiest diets is the “mediterranean” diet (which i have renamed “the balanced diet), I must admit that it can be adopted to many of one’s cultural favorite foods. For example, people from India can still have their curry even if following a mediterranean style diet. Same with people from asia or Africa etc. Any culture has its own healthy and balanced recipes to use and incorporate into one’s daily lifestyle. In fact, the foods one grows up with and is used to is beneficial to health. Eating foods that one feels happy with is good for health. So do not be afraid to eat a variety of foods and recipes including those you enjoyed in your childhood or from different countries and cultures. The balanced diet is very flexible and is not about one type of food but rather is about eating healthier and more balanced meals.
